Eisenhower High School (EHS) has named assistant coach DeAnthony Bowden Sr. as the new head boys basketball coach of the Eagles, pending board approval.
Bowden has spent the past two seasons as the EHS assistant coach and last season took on the role of the Eisenhower Middle School head boys basketball coach.
Before joining the Eisenhower staff, Bowden spent the 2021-22 season as the head boys basketball coach at Redemption Life Prep in Tulsa.
Bowden’s longest tenure, so far, was when he was the head boys basketball coach and Athletic Director at Lawton Christian School from 2015-2020. While at Lawton Christian, he was named the Coach of the Year in the HCAA Conference twice, won two State Championships and a first runner-up in the HCAA from 2017-2020.
Prior to his coaching career, Bowden played at Division I Creighton University and has over 14 years of professional basketball experience in the NBA, G-League, China Basketball Association, Continental Basketball Association, and Premier Basketball League. While he was a member of the Bluejays, the team won two Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and regular season championships (2002-04).
Bowden earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Creighton in 2018.
Bowden will be replacing Brandon Kephart, who spent the past two seasons at the helm of the Eagles’ boys basketball team.
