Cameron Gold OHLAP students who plan to attend Cameron University should also apply for the Cameron Gold Scholarship. This scholarship will cover such costs as books and fees.
Ninth & Tenth (Horse) Cavalry _______ Deadline: April 27, 2008 One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Lawton senior. Applicants must write a 450-500 word essay about the history of the 9th & 10th Cavalry “Buffalo Soldier” Regiments, provide proof of financial need, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, include a written statement of you personal goals and objectives, and provide two letters of recommendation. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Naval Reserve Officer Training Corp Scholarship Deadline: April, 2008 The NROTC scholarship is a four-year scholarship worth up to $150,000.00 covering full tuition, books, fees, uniforms and a monthly stipend of $250. After college the student enters the Navy as a commissioned officer in occupations such as Engineering, Pilot, Naval Flight Officer, or Surface Warfare Officer. Juniors are urged to apply. Requirements are: *ACT 29*Top 20% of class *Never used illegal drugs *No convictions using alcohol. EHS Lamont Wilson Memorial Scholarship Deadline: April 30, 2008 A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior to further his/her education in vocational, technical or academic schooling. Award will be based upon financial need, contributions to ROTC, and a minimum 2.8 GPA. Recipient must be an ROTC student. An unofficial transcript is required. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be returned to Mrs. Green by April 30, 2008.
Dr. Linda Williamson Spirit Scholarship ___ Deadline: April 30, 2008 Three scholarships at $200, $300, and $500 are being offered. Applicant must be a graduating senior; have minimum C+ average, have a letter of acceptance to college, have a financial need, and have letter of recommendation by a counselor, organization leader, employer or minister. Applicants are available in the Guidance Office.
Lawton Association of Elem. School Principals Deadline: April 30, 2008 This scholarship is for $500. Applicant must pursue a degree in Elementary Education from an Oklahoma College or University. Must be a LPS senior or have a parent who is currently employed by LPS. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Great Plains Tech. Cntr. Next Step Scholarship __ Deadline: May 1, 2008 This $1,200 scholarship is for student who wish to attend the Great Plains Technology Center after graduating from high school. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and should be submitted as soon as possible if you wish to be recognized in the Sr. Awards Assembly.
Dream Institute Scholarship ___ Deadline: May 1, 2008 This scholarship is for students with physical and/or learning disabilities who are pursuing a higher education degree at a state college or university. Applications are available online at www.dreaminstitute.org.
PSO Next Generation Scholarship ____ Deadline: May 2, 2008 The scholarship is valued at $1,785. Applicants must complete an OSU-Okmulgee application to pursue an Associate in Applied Science degree in Construction-High Voltage and complete the ACT or Sat. Apply online at psoklahoma.com.
Sherilykes Civic and Social Club Scholarship ___ Deadline: May, 27, 2008 This scholarship is for $500.00. There is no application but go to the Guidance Office for information.
Jason C. Wagner Foundation Scholarship __ Deadline: June 1, 2008 This $2,500 scholarship is for an Oklahoma Senior who has integrity, intelligence and kindness. An official transcript and essay are required. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
Big Sun Scholarship ___Deadline: June 20, 2008 The Big Sun organization is offering a scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The scholarship is $500. Apply online at www.bigsunathletics.com.
AES Engineers Scholarship Deadline; September 15, 2008 This scholarship is worth $500 and students must submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words in answer to one of the two questions that are posted on the site: www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.php .
Bright Futures Scholarship/OSU _____ OHLAP students who plan to attend OSU should also apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship. This scholarship will supplement OHLAP by providing additional funding for fees and books. Priority Deadline is March 1st; however the deadline could potentially become extended if there are not enough applicants. Funding will be provided on first-come, first-served basis.
American Foundation for the Blind R. Dillman Scholarship Proof of blindness is required. Applicant must submit a statement including field of study and why it was chosen, official transcripts, letter of acceptance from college/university, two letters of recommendation and economic need. Navy ROTC Scholarship ________ Deadline: Open This scholarship value can exceed $100,000.00. Seniors interested in applying for this scholarship should obtain a Navy Recruiting Sheet from the Guidance Office.
Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Deadline: See Application The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association in partnership with State Farm offers a scholarship for $750.00. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5; SAT score of at least 1090 or ACT score of at least 24; must be a senior athlete participating in at least one of the OSSAA sponsored athletic programs. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. See application for various deadlines and submit to Mrs. Green in the Guidance Office at least one week before the deadline.
OHLAP/Oklahoma’s Promise Deadline: End of Sophomore Year This scholarship is open to Oklahoma 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students (must be at least 13 years old). Applicant’s household income must be $50,000 or less. Applicant must take the 17 required core courses in high school, make at least a 2.5 GPA in both core and overall courses, stay out of trouble, and refrain from delinquent acts of abusing drugs and alcohol. Students who meet the requirements are eligible to earn free tuition to any Oklahoma public college or university for up to five years. This award will also cover a portion of the tuition at an accredited private institution or for select courses at a public technology center. Applicants may apply online at www.okpromise.org.

Society of Women Engineers _____________Deadline: ASAP SWE provides scholarships to women admitted to accredited programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and computer science. Harvard University Tuition Wavier Scholarship _______ Deadline: ASAP To qualify students’ parents must earn less than $40,000 per year and student must be an honor student. Department of Human Services Tuition Wavier _______ Deadline: ASAP This is available to students who have been in DHS custody for at least nine months between ages 16 and18. See your social worker for more information.
Great Plains Technology Center Next Step Scholarship _Deadline: ASAP If you plan to attend Great Plains Technology Center after graduating from high school, have a 2.5 GPA, and fewer than 10 absences your last two semesters of high school, you need to apply for this $1,250 scholarship. An official transcript and letter of reference from your counselor are required. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and should be mailed as soon as possible.
