Ms. Jerri Manning is an “Army Brat”, moving with her family multiple times throughout her childhood. Her extended family is from the Miami, Oklahoma area, where her family resided during their father’s deployments. She lived in Germany, California, New Jersey, and Texas among other duty stations. She was born and graduated in Texas and feels blessed to have had the opportunity to move around to see new places and meet new people. It gave her a global perspective and a love of learning. Her father retired at Ft. Sill which is ultimately how she came to be with Lawton Public Schools.
Ms. Manning earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Oklahoma State University. She continued her education at OSU earning a Master’s of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in supervision. After teaching for several years she attended The University of Oklahoma and acquired her Principal Certification. All of Ms. Manning’s public education teaching and principal experience have been with Lawton Public Schools.
Both of Ms. Manning’s sons graduated from Lawton High School. Her oldest son is a graduate of Cameron University and is engaged to be married this spring. Her youngest son is living in Miami Oklahoma and working for Home of Hope group homes in Vinita.
When not attending any one of the many school activities, Ms. Manning enjoys spending time with family, traveling, junking/antiquing, reading, or outright shopping. She is a member of LFA and volunteers at the church bookstore and food pantry.
