“We encourage everyone to fill out the School Meal application,” said Steve Dyer, LPS director of child nutrition. “This not only determines if you qualify for the free or reduced school meal, but also helps with funding in many other areas at the school your child attends.”
By using the portal, parents will have the ability to view account balances, student purchases, file an online application or add funds to their student’s lunch account. Parents that have not set up their Parent Portal account will need to verify with the school that the correct email address is on file. This can be done during Check-In August 1-6th. Paper applications will also be available at that time.
“Since you only need to do one application per household, we encourage [parents] to utilize the online application process which will expedite and streamline the application,” said Dyer. Lawton Public Schools will continue to offer free breakfast to all Lawton Public School students.
Parents/Guardians may decline the application, assistance programs qualification (TANF, FDPIR, or SNAP), and income qualification application. Please know that only one application per family is accepted for processing.
On each of the three types of applications. 1 - Decline the application: use the form marked across the face of the application marked decline. It is important to complete section 1 and list students name and school identification number. Also parents must sign the application and step four with signature. 2 - Qualify by assistance programs: please complete step number one, step number two and step four. 3 - Qualify by household income: please complete step one, step three with frequency, and step four with signature.
