*** The invitation letter was mailed last week to the parents or guardians of students receiving an academic bar or letter. ***
Criteria for Academic Awards are:
Academic letters are awarded for academic performance, and subsequent winners earn bars. To receive a letter or bar, a student must have a cumulative grade-point average of 4.0 for the 1st semester of his or her sixth grade year, 3.7 for three semesters through the seventh grade year, or a 3.5 grade-point average for five semesters through the eighth grade year.
